The report compares a survey taken from almost 250 South African marketing, digital and commerce professionals and compares it to the rest of the world. Customer experience seems to be at the forefront of the digital world, looking to take organisations by storm. Marketers will need to embrace digital change, build a customer-centric future and experiment with innovative technology if they do not want to be left behind.

The South African digital landscape is rapidly transforming with growth among internet usage at 52% and smartphone penetration at 53%. South Africa has aligned itself with the rest of the world in terms of digital permeation into the digital sphere, but has a substantial interest in being digital first organisations.
